If you are a dog owner, chances are you have had to come across dog urine at some point in time. It is a nuisance to say the least. So when does dog urine really become a problem? Well, more than the urine itself the problem lies with the habits of your pet. If your dog develops the habit of urinating indoors then you have a significant dog urine problem on your hands.

Dog urine becomes a real problem when you face it regularly in your household. If you own a dog, an occasional splatter of dog urine is nothing out of the ordinary but if you find it within your household with alarming regularity, then it is time to take action.

Cleaning dog urine- is it difficult?

The difficulty of cleaning dog urine is not in the urine itself. It can be mopped up with standard household or toilet cleaning equipment. But the real problem with dog urine lies in two things.

First, the odor. Dog urine has a really strong and foul odor which tends to lurk in the house even hours after cleaning and disinfecting. That makes it really difficult for you, more so if you have people coming over or something similar. Even after fully cleaning the urine away, the smell might last for a long time. Thus proper precautions must be taken in addition to cleaning and disinfecting. A good deodorizer never goes to waste.

Secondly, the detection of dog urine is quite difficult since dogs, especially male ones tend to urinate in a random and spread out fashion. You think you may have wiped it all clean but there might still be patches lying undetected in your house. As a result the foul smell will continue to lurk as well.
