Emily Jenkins was a dedicated and kind hearted social worker. She was given case 39: a case of parental abuse against a 10 year old child named Lillith Sullivan. After making studies of the family's home situation, she declares that Lillith is not safe to live with her family, and has to be rescued. Believing that Lillith deserves a better place away from here abusive parents, Emily arranges for her to stay with her. Later on, she discovers that there are a lot of strange things happening around them. People are starting to die in the most bizzare and unexplainable circumstances.

She later realizes that Lillith's case, case 39, is far more deadlier than anything she has ever handled before.
