If your PS3 won't recognize controller, or any other devices connected to the usb port, there are certain remedies that you can apply. The most common fix is the reset method. Most controllers have a reset button hidden somewhere beneath it.

Look for a tiny hole and insert a needle in it. You will feel something inside it that goes down and back when you press your needle with it. That's the reset button.

You need to turn off your ps3 console, and disconnect your controller. After a few seconds turn it on again, then plug in the controller. You will then register the controller to the console for it to be recognized again. That should take care of PS3 won't recognize problem.

Now if your ps3 won't recognize disc, it's gonna be a totally different story. You can apply the rest technique though, and see if is able to fix the problem as well.
