PS3 overheating: temperature on the rise?

When Playstation 3 Overheat occurs, your game console might stopped functioning all of the sudden. Or another possible result is that your PS3 may begin to function erratically.

Just as overheating is harmful to every gadget, your PS3 is no exception. A frequent playstation 3 overheating problem can be fatal to your game console, and you might end up having to throw it away for good.

PS3 overheating: fix it right away!

The first step to solving PS3 overheating problem is to determine the cause and to eliminate it. Try checking the cooling system first. If you have been using your ps3 for a long time, then there is a good chance that too much dirt have accumulated and clogged the cooling fans.

Make sure your PS3 is off before repairing your PS3 overheating problem. Get a good brush and remove the dirt immediately. Compressed air in cans are also a big help in blowing away these dust specially if it has clung on tightly on the fan blades.

Once the fan is clear from dirt and dust, power on your PS3 to see if the fan is still spinning normally. If it is, monitor the heat level while playing your PS3 for a while. Chances are you have stopped your ps overheated issue.

If the cooling fan is not spinning anymore, then you can have it replaced with a new set of cooling fan. Do a regular check and cleaning of your ps3 to prevent PS3 overheating again.
