Should your playstation 3 overheats again, shut it down completely and let it cool down before playing it again. Then check if your ps3 is getting ample ventilation. After you relocate it, try playing it again and touch the console from time to time in order to feel if the temperature is on the rise again. If it does not get too hot, then you have just solve PS3 overheat problem and save it from further damage.
