Topic: Dtheatre.com Xbox 360 Help: Console Won't Read Disc, why it Cannot Read Disc?

By ChrisGamingExpert on 2009-11-10 18:55:59

You're looking forward to playing a particular game when you come out with the message that tells you your Xbox 360 won't read disc - or it cannot read disc for some reason. This is actually a common error, so don't panic because it CAN be fixed. There are many possible reasons when 360 says unplayable disc error and what you just need to do is spare a few minutes from your weekend trying to figure out what's going on.

When your Xbox 360 won't read the DVD, it only means exactly that. The laser in the DVD drive is having a hard time getting through to the information on the disc that it's supposed to read.

Dealing with Xbox 360 won't read disc

There are many factors why your Xbox 360 cannot read disc. Logically, you might want to start with the DVD you've been trying to use in the first place. For instance, it's possible that your CD is dirty or it has many scratches on it.

The 360's inability to read your CD may also be because your disc comes from a different country or is manufactured to support a particular type of console. Compatibility issues may be hindering the DVD drive's ability to recognize the format of the disc.

Finally, it's also possible that your Xbox 360 won't read the DVD because it's experiencing hardware issues that have nothing to do with the CD.

Dealing with Xbox 360 won't read disc

The first step in troubleshooting a problem with an Xbox 360 stuck disc Console Won't or Cannot Read Discis to check out the DVD itself for problems. You might want to observe the scratches. Scratches on the disc's surface will make it difficult for the DVD drive to get through to the information contained in the CD. You will also want to observe the scratches.

A scratch that runs along the curve of the disc will render it damaged. For this, you will have to send it back to the store where you got it if it's new or, you have to buy a new game disc to replace the old one.

You might also want to try cleaning your disc with a soft cloth to remove the dirt on it.
