I hve a few things to say...
One) You cannot go into the film expecting it to be better, no one could do that, you have to expect difference, it will be different, still good, still entertaining, but different, Burton did not go out and try to make it better, it has been said by himslef and Depp they could not make it better, just different...now that you have that understood...
even though he is following more closely to the book, it does not mean he is going presicely by the book...so what if the oopma loompas arent exactly the same, so what if willy wonka doesnt look like the books description to a t...the whole story in general will be closer to the book than the original...so stop complaining about how it isn't ever going to be better than the first, or how it isn't exactly as the book...it is a film made by a talented man, with many talented actors which will be a very good movie...just let the complaining rest, and shit, the movie isnt even out yet...nor is it even done filming....
