28 DAYS LATER sequel

A sequel to 28 Days Later has been greenlighted by Fox Searchlight Films, according to Variety. ?The follow-up to the popular, low-budget 2002 film is tentatively titled 28 Weeks Later. ?The sequel will likely have a new director and screenwriter and while they're changing things, a new title might not be a bad idea, either.

The first film's screenwriter, Alex Garland, and director, Danny Boyle, are set to produce the sequel alongside original producer Andrew Macdonald. ?There's no word yet on plot or casting, but fans of the original film are clawing their own eyes out wondering which of the first film's umpteen zillion endings will be the basis for the sequel.
