Dead End was a piece O crap if there ever was one.  Man, Batman should never fight Aliens or Predators, even in the comics. I don't want worlds colliding like that--it's very uncomfortable.  It's not true to Batman's character or history, and Bob kane would take his quill and stab himself in the eyeballs if he ever saw such an abomination.  Sandy Collora, for being such an avid comics fan, certainly didn't do much to stay true to the character.  It's typical of style over substance. And of course, the masses want to eat it up.  But frankly, even for being a short film, I've seen much better.  The action scenes were so friggin' clunky (And don't give me hell about it being a low-budget film; low budgets are no excuse for poorly shot and executed fight scenes, and there's a plethora of kung-fu films to prove that point--what do you thing the Shaw brothers had been doing all those years?)Collora is typical of those aspiring directors who boil movies down to individual shots, rambling on about this and that angle, this and that composition, and this and that lighting.  Look, I've made enough movies to know that a movie could look like a piece of crap and still be far more captivating than those films that look Hollywood.  Check out Lars Von Trier's work to see films that don't look perty, but are beautiful nonetheless.  Point being: I like films that look good, but how a film looks is only one aspect of what makes a film; there are other factors, like pacing, performance, staging, and most importanly story.  Stop calling people geniuses before they've done anything truly genuine.
