King Theoden dies in the war for Gondor against the Nazgul.  Eowyn, his niece, falls in love with Faramir, and they live happily ever after.

Aragorn marries Arwin, of course, and Sam ends up marrying Rosie.

For Frodo, it becomes really hard to let go of the ring, and since Smeagol was still after them, he jumps on Frodo right when he's on the edge of Mount Doom and bites his finger off! Ring included!!... But he (Smeagol) stumbles, falls, and burns himself and the ring... plus Frodo's finger.

Saruman dies on behalf of Grimma Wormtongue at the very end.
