Note: Every Christian was under the name "CATHOLIC" at least since 200 AD, CATHOLIC in latin means universal. The Protestant church diverged from the Theology imparted by Christ to the Catholic Church as it was in the 1500s. Martin formed his OWN theology. Martin was an imperfect man-- Christ was the second Adam, the IAM, the Lamb of God, the Perfect man, the MESSIAH, the Son of God, and on. Jesus left the twelve Apostles when He ascended, not a Bible, and the Bible even if examined closely, refutes Martin's theology--

Purgatory-- 1 Cor 3:10-15
Eucharist(Lord's Supper) as Christ Himself-- John 6
Salvation as a path--1 Peter 1-9
Rejection of some "Christians" on entry to Heaven-- John 15:2
Matt 22:1-14

Jesus had said, whoever overlooks a letter of the Law and teaches others to do so will be the least in the Kingdom of Heaven, brothers, and sisters, let us not overlook the Scriptures as they are, and not in Martin's eyes, but in Jesus' Church's eyes.
