As to my original comments (RE: Return of the King), so it's to be an ending of either Mt. Doom and the eagles or the parting to the Grey Havens , is it?  Still don't want to believe that Mr. Jackson will leave out the reclaiming  of the Shire just to keep the film length down.  Please, Mr. Jackson, if you ever even here a wisp of this, please, please include, in some form, "The Scouring Of The Shire"..And don't tell me he doesn't have the time, 9 months, on any time table should be more then enought time to do it right.
