This is the most amazing site I've been on yet. Not only is this a swamp of big mouths spouting off who have obviously NEVER opened any of Tolkein's books (or a dictionary), it's also an outright circus of insult. I must say, it's been worth a few chuckles.  I'll offer this to anyone...if you like the movie because you want to see Gollum's wee-wee, or because Legolas is hot, then don't bother wit h the books. You won't get them. Geez.
If, however, you were one of those who actually recognized a  thread of a story, then take the time to read the books (more than once) and get the facts of the story, as it was written...from the source. Then, if you want to get REAL adventurous, try reading some of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien as they relate to Middle Earth published after his death. Honestly, I don't know what's funnier, the incredibly wretched spelling (the web lingo NOT included) or the ridiculously poorly informed "experts" calling each other nerds. What a hoot!
