In 1941, Fox comics released a short lived series about a female super-hero called The Spider Queen. Her husband was a scientist who had invented a "Spider Web Fluid", he was killed by commies and she decided to fight them with her husband's invention. She created rist bands which shot webbing that she used to swing from place to place.
Now, this is not made up. I'm serious. You can check this our for yourself. It's too much of a coincidence to believe that Stan Lee didnt' know about this character and her powers. Stan Lee does rip things off. I'm sure of it.
