I live in Melbourne, Victoria and I saw a situation that may well just sum this arguement up.  
I was walking through the city with my girlfriend and we were about to enter this bar which was full of American sailors or soldiers off duty.  These idiots were soo drunk they were being thrown out of the bar for fighting and trying to sexually harrass the women.  Upon being thrown out a couple of the Yanks yelled out, "We're American! We're American", like it was some kind of God given privillege and they continued with their disgusting behaviour and picking fights with everyone.  It was at this point one of the Aussies at the bar walked outside and smashed a bottle over the head of one of the fools and beat the sh*t out of another, breaking limbs and all.  Nobody came to help them, nobody cared, they just laughed and left them their because they were American and they didnt need anyones help.  It was a classic and it goes to show who the pussies are.  I know a lot of you yanks will be pissed off about this but that goes to show you are just like these fools and it will happen to you one day.
