The funniest part of the post where the idiot said Harry Potter would be to blame in the future? Where he says that the guy's parents buying him Harry Potter stuff would keep him away from a normal existence or the real world...ummm...just a hint: If every other kid on the planet is into something, including this future mythical psychopath with the lightning bolt tattoo? That MAKES it a normal existence.

Just because you disapprove doesn't change that fact that pop culture is what defines the majority of our shared memories in this world for the last, oh, 100 years.

Your grandparents' foundest memories may be playing baseball on the sandlot. Guess where they learned how to play? It wasn't from Grampa Leonard's fireside discourse. It was from listening to it on the radio...which is, you guessed it, part of pop(ular) culture.
