The matrix was a good movie but Hong Kong has been making movies like that for yonks... Its only cos racist putz's keep praising it like it was the first of its kind.  Bigger budget yes, but nothing original or new compared to Chinatown or Japanese anime.  Crouching tiger was a huge success only after the Matrix was so popular to western audiences, otherwise it might well be just another Kung Fu flick.  To prove my point some big hollywood producers are re-releasing the Iron Monkey which was made in 1993.  Why?  Cos it was a good movie, with cool Kung-Fu but not everyone in the commercial world would give give it a chance back then.  What I mean is that Asian influence is creeping in and people need to realise that America arent the creators, they are just cashing in.  As for keanu Reeves, well, nothing agaisnt the guy but as a martial arts fan, he doesnt impress me, cos he had only practiced for 6 months and not all his life.... any genuine martial artist can see that even though it might convince most people. Thats why the producers have offered roles to Jet Li and Michelle Yoe in the sequels of Matrix, because they are genuine and that will take the movie to the next level it was missing in the first movie. jet Li turned it down because he would bring that genuine martial arts standard to the movie but he wont get paid what he asks and he wont be playing a lead role.  I dont blame him... he deserves better than being insulted by ignorant, Hollywood producers.
