I think the reason it was so rough around the edges was b/c the director wanted to make Jet presentable to the teenage american audience. I mean, i'm part of that audience, but i got a kick out of the irony such as he not able to beat up delroy lindo. It's that erie 'Shaft' Affect.

Look at the way he spoke in the movie, he sounded like he was trying to be a cross between jackie chan and clint eastwood. I didn't get the idea of that, but nobody else seemed to notice or care.

Also, I totally agree. The fight scenes should have been sped up for effect instead of slowed down, but whatdda know. It tried the circle of the matirx. Movie copies movie that copies the movie before it even comes out to make it appeal to more people.

As for the acting, I thought that TK was a bad casting desision, The vibe wasn't there. Remember in the defender (another one of the worst JL movies of all time, in my opinion) That the girl had good chemiestry with him, despite they never kissed, and barely even had sexual tentson. and that the acting was kinda okay, but again, I gave up on high quality action acting when i saw universial soldier for the first time. Every now and then i'll be suprised, like with a movie like 'romeo must die' or even 'exit wounds' but i never expect the acting to shine.

Now that i think about it, The one DOES make
'once upon a time in china' like the shiz to the 29th power.
