I beg to differ... There would be no paradox  being his own father.  Save for the fact that it's just plain GROSS to think about, it should be possible.  If you look at it on a linear time line, he pops in around, what was it, 82?
His existance is a solid, concrete fact at that linear point in time, aka his birth on that line. It does not matter is he has yet to be born-  he has already established himself as a fact.  He then expires, is born and then the moment he travels back in time (mark the line) is the end of his existence/death,   and the time line still moves forward. His life is marked, beginning and end.  Of course, time is actually an infinite spiraling loop and there can be no paradox in a loop... the DNA thing is a good point, but if his strand is blue/green and his mother's is green/yellow and his half donates blue and her half donates green, then you've got blue/green, identical match-up (am I wrong?)... but the whole point is Kyle Reece was John Connors father, not John Connor. I'm going to have to spend a few days getting that GROSS image out of my head.  Michael Beihn was my first movie crush (after that guy in man from snowy river)and I cannot stomach the thought... urgle...
