i don't think that'll happen.  he can be a diverse actor and i think he's got enough skills to prove it. it's the same with matthew broderick...his biggest role was Ferris Bueller but he can easily take another role that isn't anything like that one. same thing with Sean Connery being James Bond. duchoveny was probaby cast in Evolution just cuz it's a sci-fi movie that deals with aliens and people thought it'd be funny to see him do a sort of satirical view on the x-files...which is what this movie looks like.  and i think that's part of the reason he left the show, to try other projects.
i got faith in him.  he's a good actor and if he wants something completely different than an x-files-themed movie then he'll find it.
