I'd agree with this, but Batman: Year One is no "cookie cutter" sh*t.  Batman: Year One was a mini series of comic books written by comic-great Frank Miller, who is responsible for some of the greatest Bat-comics ever made (including The Dark Knight Return, widly acclaimed the greatest American graphic novel, ever) and Arnofsky would have been working closely with Miller on the screenplay.  And the comic itself even looks like an Arnofsky film!  Batman: Year One is not you typical Batman action flick, like the God-awful last two attempts.  And those movies sure as HELL don't reflect much of anything from the comic.  Batman: Year One would have been a great opportunity to show the public what Batman is really like, especially if it were directed by Arnofsky.  Now, all the movie-going, non-comic reading public will see in Batman is the god-awful movies and the horrible '60s Adam West show.

And by the way, before any idiot tells me to, I have looked into marrying my comic books.  Its only illegal in Vermont, and I spent all my gas money on "The Complete Frank Miller Batman".
