In Todd Haynes' (dir. Far From Heaven, Velvet Goldmine, Safe) I'm Not There, a number of different, talented actors (Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger) are playing Bob Dylan at different moments in his life, somehow. Dig a scene with Blanchett as Dylan and David Cross in (what looks like) the role he was born to play.

This could maybe be a swell CGI flick if Seinfeld's writing is sharp and not too dumbed down for kiddie marketing ploys and not too entrenched in endless pop culture references for the adults. Ren?e Zellweger, Chris Rock, Oprah Winfrey and Kathy Bates all co-voice (our word).

Director David Dobkin (dir. Wedding Crashers) must be the new R-Rated comedy it-director in H-Town. Wedding Crashers had its moments and Vince Vaughn knows how to play himself well, but WC was damn predictable after the opening titles. Enter "Fred Claus," a comedy with a solid cast and decent concept, lets hope Dobkin and the writers get smart.

Steve Carrell needs to be damn careful of not becoming to much of a good thing (see Will Ferrell). He's damn funny, he's got great comedic instincts, but has got to chose his scripts wisely or he'll get stuck in the Will Ferrell comedy trap. Get Smart is another upcoming comedy with a solid cast that could be great with the right script and solid direction.
