Bad Idea G.I. JOE Movie Gets STEVEN SOMMERS Sure, we'd love to the affeminate Cobra Commander on the big screen just as much as the next guy, but this approach feels wrong. Bad Idea # 1, fast-track a live-action film version of G.I. Joe. Bad(der) Idea, get Steve Sommers (Mummy flicks, Van Helsing) to direct the son of a bitch. New ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES Trailer The official title is still "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward James Ford," and we dig that they're sticking with the long form. Long titles you can't breakdown to a two-letter acronym,like say, T2, don't last long. This new trailer for TAOJJBTCRF is sleak and solid. 2nd Blomkamp HALO 3 Live Action FOOTAGE Neil Blomkamp was/is slated to direct the Peter Jackson produced movie version of the video game. Production is stalled in pre-production, budget tooling, re-scripting (rumored), and there is no nw word as to whether this flick will see the light of day. Gondry's BE KIND REWIND Trailer Is Solid Michel Gondry (dir. Eternal Sunshine, Dave Chappelle's Block Party) kicks ass (mostly). Sure, he had a small misstep in some peoples' minds (ours) with the Science of Sleep (too damn indulgent, like Anderson's Life Aquatic), but he's still an aces director in our book.
