Sure, we'd love to the affeminate Cobra Commander on the big screen just as much as the next guy, but this approach feels wrong. Bad Idea # 1, fast-track a live-action film version of G.I. Joe. Bad(der) Idea, get Steve Sommers (Mummy flicks, Van Helsing) to direct the son of a bitch. Stuart Beattie is the rumored writer (not bad, POTC flicks) and the studio wants a february start. Read details..

The official title is still "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward James Ford," and we dig that they're sticking with the long form. Long titles you can't breakdown to a two-letter acronym, like say, T2, don't last long. This new trailer for TAOJJBTCRF is sleak and solid. The flick stars Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck and looks Eastwood-ish.

Yep, masters of commercialism for dollar summer tentpoles, Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg came out (to mean-talk Paramount's decision to not support the Blue-Ray DVD format). So huge and daring of them both. Bay even "blog famed" late at night about it. ? So daring of your Bay..

Marty Scorsese shot this bitch awhile ago. It's not an Imax concert flick (that U2 one is still to come), but it is a seminal moment in lives of a bunch of 60 yr olds that decided to get the band back together and do a show. We kid. Dig the tease..

So the word on the unreliable internets is that the role of Scotty has been cast and that it's the guy you've heard it might be. Hint: he's brand new on the scene in Hollywood and is currently co-starring in "Becoming Jane." Click for the big reveal..

TV geek's Princess Lea, Kirsten Bell, has landed a multi-episode gig on NBC's softcore comic book-ish series, Heroes. Bell will play a "sexy, mysterious" woman involved in Peter's death. Peter, dead? Doubt it.

They're not awful, they're just not great either. They don't have the gloss and darkened-down hue of what we imagine TDK will look like after the film is processed. ?The majority of these are stills shot during production for future PR, seemingly lit by plane daylight (save one or two). Beware, SPOILER-ish stuff is happening in said lame photos.

Sorry for the pun. Couldn't not. So ScarJo's people announced her next three pics yesterday. First "He's Just Not That Into You," then "The Spirit," and finally "Mary Queen of Scots." In The Spirit, she'll be Silk N. Floss, a intelligent bad hot woman.

Its short and funny-ish in Harold & Kumar kinda way (insert Neil Patrick Harris here). This flick has had its delays and title changes, but will open and make a huge sum for at least one weekend next spring.

Walk Hard is an airplane for music bio flicks. A Talladega Nights meets Ray (or Walk the Line). It could have a few, small funny moments that might not already be in the trailer. Maybe. Not likely, but one can hope. Dig the over-long, badly edited, trailer..

Michel Gondry (dir. Eternal Sunshine, Dave Chappelle's Block Party) kicks ass (mostly). Sure, he had a small misstep in some peoples' minds (ours) with the Science of Sleep (too damn indulgent, like Anderson's Life Aquatic), but he's still an aces director in our book. Dig "Be Kind Rewind," a flick with a damn great premise.
