Awful Richard Kelly SOUTHLAND TALES Trailer God awful. We're thinking it's the studios horrible attempt to make it look like a different film than what it is (a dark comedy with musical numbers). If it is a good flick, the trailer mangles it into a horrible one. If it's half as bad as the trailer, Richard Kelly (wr-dir. Do you know care that Carrie Bradshaw and her friends from the nineties will be hitting the big screen next spring and or summer to probably fret over, then except a big change in their life (someone probably dies). Michael Cera's JUNO Has Solid Trailer, Poster Juno is not really Michael Cera's (Arrested Development, Superbad) movie, he's not a lead, but we think it he'll steal every scene. A work print is usually a rough edit of a film with unfinished music, effects, color correction, etc. Weird, eh? KEANU On For THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL Keanu Reeves signed on for another end of the world sci-fi drama. A long in development remake of the sci-fi classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still (or TDTESS), is set to go into production this fall or winter with a maybe possibly long-shot release date of next summer. 2nd HITMAN Trailer We're getting a serious John Woo vibe off of this trailer. Dig the slow motion white bird in the background of one of the shots. Woo (re)made the whole slo-mo shoot 'em up ballet with bullets and pretty music style in the '80s, '90s. Hitman looks like a cousin of the Woo. ALIENS Vs. PREDATORS 2, BEOWULF R-Rated Teases Man do both of these flicks look pretty damn stupid. Beowulf might be worth a watch just to see how Zemeckis (dir. Cast Away, Forest Gump) has further distanced himself from presenting human-looking (and sounding) characters, but AVP2 is another story. Sure it might win a weekend, but that's all.
