MGM studios recently announced that there will be no Rocky VI in the foreseeable future, despite the completed script that studio executives tapped Stallone to write.

Though Mike Clark's attempt at originality in his reviewing is good in theory, I cannot recommend that people actually go read his review.

The fist publicity photo of Christian Bale as the new Batman hit the web last night. ?Brace yourself, they could have picked a better pic (he looks a little bloated), but who cares, this film has too many good things (cast, director, etc) going for it. ?Click on for the pic...

Rock ?n? Roll documentaries are the scum of the earth. Usually, they are self-indulgent crap that bores me to tears. However, once in a while a band comes along with brilliant music and the rare ability to pull off a compelling movie to boot. While rumaging through the Netflix vaults I came across four prize pigs. No prissy limo rides or sold out stadiums here; instead we have bands living and playing out of their van and live concerts from mental institutions and nursing homes.

Eric Idle has compared his crucifixion in Monty Python's The Life of Brian (he's credited as a "crucifee") with the latest one in The Passion of the Christ and has found his own infinitely superior. Writing in Sunday's Los Angeles Times, Idle commented that although he hasn't seen the Mel Gibson film, "I gather that Mel doesn't handle the comedy too well, and he seems to totally ignore the singing opportunities of the crucifixion altogether.

Coming attractions: Several questions with cult hero Bruce Campbell. "It's hard to believe that some people don't know who Bruce Campbell is," commented my friend, a movie fan. ?I had to agree. ?Blank stares were all the response I got several times this week when I told people that I was trying to get Bruce Campbell for an interview.

The large, hairy geeks over at aintitcool.com are reporting that ass kicking director Darren Aronofsky (if you don't know what he's done you're stupid. ?See Pi) has agreed to, or is in the running to direct the film adaptation of the beautiful graphic novel, THE WATCHMEN. ?If the scoop is real, thats damn good news for comic book fans (and the rest of us film freaks).

Since there is a director on board now, expect another draft or two. In a nutshell The Fantastic Four (draft four, 02-20-04) is a character piece. I can see why Arad liked Story because of his reputation with character development and relationships. Don?t get me wrong, there is a lot of action and some major set pieces but this one is all about character.

Okay?I honestly think that I had forgotten about the NBC series Punky Brewster, which ran from 1984 through 1988. I remember watching it when I was younger, and as far as mediocre, kid-targeted TV went, it wasn?t awful. The last I heard about its star, Soleil Moon Frye, was that ?Punky? was going to go under the knife to drop from a DD cup size to a more modest single D. Double Ds make the world go round and a standard D is nothing to sneeze at either!
