REVIEWS: Hollywood Reporter, Daily Variety Dig SUPERMAN RETURNS!

The first of the "legit" reviews comes out. ?Kirk Honeycutt of the Hollywood Reporter writes, "In "Superman: The Movie," the film by director Richard Donner in 1978, the late Christopher Reeve rescued the iconic superhero from high camp with the sincerity and warmth of his acting. His Superman was a romantic charmer. Director Bryan Singer positions this new film as a sequel to Donner's film, and his Superman -- played with winning fortitude by newcomer Brandon Routh -- is less a Man of Steel than a Man of Heart." ?Click on for the rest of this and other reviews.

Will Ferrell's TALLADEGA NIGHTS Full Trailer

It's a shame this trailer ain't funny. ?It almost is funny. ?You want it to be funny. ?Ferrell tries so damn hard. ?Too hard. ?He needs a smart script he didn't write with an old SNL friend and a smart director to help contain his funny a little (this fall's Stranger Than Fiction could be the one). Otherwise, dig this subpar trailer for Ferrell's summer joint.

SPIELBERG Has Another Possible "Next Film"

Steven SpielbergThe Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Steven Spielberg (dir. Munich, Catch Me If You Can, 1941) is mulling over another new idea-treatment that could become his next project if Indy 4 doesn't make it through rewrite #237.  This new idea is the brainchild of a leading Caltech physicist Kip Thorne and is said to be about the nature of gravity and blackholes, in the vein of 2001: A Space Odyssey.  Sounds a lot better than Indy giving the "..too old for this shit," line over and over, eh?
